Notice for Initiating the Electronic Visa Application Form And China Online Visa Application (COVA) System

In light of the latest situation of COVID-19 Pandemic Prevention and Control in the Macao SAR and the needs of cultural exchanges and economic development, on March 1st, 2021, the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in Macao SAR will gradually start to accept China's mainland visa applications for foreign residents of the Macao SAR (including permanent and non-permanent residents) through China Online Visa Application (COVA) system. At this stage, priority is given to applications for M and F visas, and the relevant application notice is as follows:

1-Application materials:

(1) Macao resident identity card (Permanent or non-permanent) ;

(2) Proof of stay in Macao SAR for at least 2 consecutive months before the date of application;

(3) Original passport remained valid for more than six months with two or more blank visa pages, and a photocopy of the passport's information page;

(4) Visa Application Form downloaded from the COVA system, attached with a recently-taken colored passport photo (bare-head, full face) against a white background.

(5) Additionally for M Visa

An invitation letter from a trade partner in China, or from trade fairs, which should contain:

a.Information of the applicant (full name, gender, date of birth, etc)

b.Information of the planned visit (purpose of visit, arrival and departure dates, place(s) to be visited, relations between the applicant and the inviting entity or individual, financial source for expenditures)

c. Information of the inviting entity or individual (name, telephone number, address, official stamp, signature of the legal representative or the inviting individual and business license,etc. )

(6) Additionally for F Visa

An invitation letter issued by a relevant entity or individual in China. The invitation should contain:

a) Information of the applicant (full name, gender, date of birth, etc.)

b) Information of the planned visit (purpose of visit, arrival and departure dates, place(s) to be visited, relations between the applicant and the inviting entity or individual, financial source for expenditures)

c) Information of the inviting entity or individual (name, telephone number, address, official stamp, signature of the legal representative or the inviting individual)

2.Appointment in advance

In view of the need of epidemic prevention and to ensure the implementation of work in order, our office will start using the China online visa application and appointment for visa application submission from 16:00, 24 February. Applicants are required to log in to the "COVA" (https://cova.mfa.gov.cn) to fill out the electronic visa application form online and make an appointment with the date and time ("Appointment for Visa Application Submission": https://avas.mfa.gov.cn). After completing the form online, the applicant signs on the printed confirmation page and page 8 of the printed Application form, then submits with the other required materials to the consular department of the office on the appointed date and time.

We kindly remind you that every applicant should reserve enough time to fill out the electronic visa application form online with truthful and accurate information. Once it is found that the information is untruthful, your application will be rejected and you must make another new appointment. At this moment, we generally issue visa with one entry of 3 months of validity and 30 days of stay. Urgent service is not provided.

3.Express Channel

For those who are going to the mainland of China to participate in the resumption of work or with urgent humanitarian needs are exempt from making appointments online. In this circumstance, it is required to provide necessary supporting materials.
