Dai Bingguo Meets with Indian Foreign Minister Krishna

On February 8, 2012, State Councilor Dai Bingguo met with Indian Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna in Zhongnanhai.

Dai said China and India are the largest developing countries as well as the fastest growing emerging economies. In recent years, China-India relations have maintained sound development momentum with the deepening of cooperation in various fields. He said the bilateral relationship is becoming more and more important globally and strategically. In the current international situation, China and India face rare strategic opportunities and common challenges. He called on the two sides to grasp historical opportunities, grasp the general direction of friendship and adhere to the lofty goal of common development so as to further advance the China-India relationship.

Krishna said over the past 10 years, India and China have established a strategic cooperative partnership and bilateral friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation have reached an unprecedented level. The Indian government attaches great importance to friendly and cooperative relations with China and is ready to work with the Chinese side to maintain the momentum of high-level visits, deepen trade and investment cooperation and expand humanities, media and youth exchanges so as to push forward bilateral relations.
